This Privacy Policy explains how CINELodge, a brand operated by GOLDENHOUR SAS, 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France ("CINELodge", "we", "us"), collects, uses and discloses your personal information when you visit our website, make a purchase or otherwise interact with us (the "Services"). Our store is hosted on Shopify. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to personal information.

1. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers and contact details: name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number.
  • Payment and transaction information: payment method and confirmation, order details, items purchased, returned or cancelled. Card numbers are processed by our payment providers; we do not store full card details.
  • Account information: login email, password, preferences and order history, if you create an account.
  • Communications: messages you send us by email, phone or contact form, and your communication preferences.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, pages viewed, products browsed or added to cart, and how you interact with the website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Inferences: limited preferences drawn from the information above (for example, product categories you are interested in).

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, health data or precise geolocation).

2. Sources of personal information

We collect personal information directly from you; automatically through the Services (including cookies, pixels and similar technologies); from our service providers that process information on our behalf; and from our marketing and advertising partners.

3. How we use personal information

  • To provide the Services and fulfill orders: processing payments, shipping, delivery tracking, returns and exchanges, account management and order notifications.
  • Customer support: answering your questions and resolving issues.
  • Marketing and advertising: sending promotional emails or text messages if you have subscribed, and showing you relevant ads on other websites and platforms, subject to your choices described below.
  • Analytics and improvement: understanding how visitors use the website to improve our products and Services.
  • Security and fraud prevention: detecting, preventing and investigating fraudulent, illegal or harmful activity.
  • Legal compliance: complying with tax, accounting and other legal obligations, responding to lawful requests and enforcing our terms.

4. How we disclose personal information

We disclose personal information only for the purposes described above, to:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf, such as Shopify (e-commerce platform and hosting), payment processors (such as Shopify Payments, PayPal and buy-now-pay-later providers you choose at checkout), shipping carriers and fulfillment partners, order-tracking services, customer support and email tools, and analytics providers.
  • Advertising and marketing partners (such as Google and Meta) that help us measure and personalize advertising, when you have not opted out.
  • Other parties when you direct us to, when required by law or legal process, to protect our rights, users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of advertising cookies and pixels to show you targeted ads may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or "targeted advertising", under some U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time as described in section 7.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our partners use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to make the website work (for example, to remember your cart), to remember your preferences, to analyze traffic and to deliver and measure advertising. You can manage cookies through the cookie and privacy settings shown on our website and through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the website, such as the cart and checkout, from working. To learn more about how Shopify uses cookies, see Shopify's Cookie Policy.

6. Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve them. Shopify may also use certain information about your interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify to provide enhanced features; in those cases Shopify is responsible for that processing. To learn more, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. Depending on where you live, you may exercise certain rights regarding that information through the Shopify Privacy Portal.

7. Your U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:

  • Know and access the personal information we hold about you and how we use and disclose it;
  • Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Obtain a copy of your personal information in a portable format;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, targeted advertising and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects;
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require this right);
  • Appeal our decision on a privacy request.

How to opt out: use the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of our website. We also honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) sent by your browser; when we detect one, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising for that browser.

How to submit other requests: email contact@cinelodge.com with the subject "Privacy request" or call +1 (240) 624-4319. We will verify your identity by matching information you provide with information we hold (for example, your email address and an order number) before responding, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent; we may require proof of the agent's authorization and ask you to verify your identity directly. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email with the subject "Privacy appeal"; if you disagree with the outcome of your appeal, you may contact your state Attorney General.

Non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

California "Shine the Light": California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes without your consent.

Nevada residents: we do not sell covered information as defined under Nevada law. You may still email us to submit an opt-out request.

8. Marketing communications

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email. If you subscribed to text messages, reply STOP to opt out. Message and data rates may apply. Even if you opt out, we will still send you transactional messages about your orders and account.

9. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and maintain your account, and as required to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations (generally up to 7 years for transaction records), resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information, and checkout is processed over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information through unsecured channels.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites and platforms. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please review their privacy policies.

13. International transfers

We are based in France and our service providers may be located in the United States, the European Union, Canada and other countries. Your personal information may therefore be processed outside the state or country where you live, with appropriate safeguards where required by law.
